About the Platform

Cambio™ is built on a high-performance, geo-referenced architecture that turns fragmented, underused data into an intelligent foundation for anticipating and mitigating geotechnical risks. Built with decades of applied earth science expertise and engineering insights, the platform helps teams interpret complex data, share insights, and act with confidence.
Cambio was developed on these simple principles:
  • Structure powers intelligence: Organized data unlocks analytics, automation, AI, and machine learning.
  • Access improves execution: Shared visibility streamlines workflows, reduces errors, and keeps teams aligned.
  • Context reveals insight: Visualizing multiple datasets together deepens understanding and interpretation.
How it works

Stuctures data at scale

Cambio integrates sub-surface, surface, and aerial datasets into a location-based framework. Real-time feeds and historical records are analyzed together in context through interactive maps, tables, and libraries. Users can add custom geospatial layers and files and turn on curated public dataset layers like lidar, InSAR, and weather.

Monitors evolving conditions

Cambio scans spatial layers and monitoring data to detect early warning signs and quantify risk. Advanced digital workflows automate processes and apply geo- and hydrotechnical models, machine learning, algorithms, and user-defined thresholds to dynamically characterize conditions and assess risk as new data comes in.

Enables confident decisions

Cambio connects earth science to daily decisions with engineering tools to visualize and communicate risk. Through map layers, time-series plots, and cross-sections, users can combine inspections, instruments, imagery, and terrain in one view and share their workspaces with internal and external stakeholders using a single URL.

Our Mobile App
Take Cambio into the field with the companion mobile app for tablets and smartphones. The app lets you collect and update field data digitally, including photos, notes, and structured observations with GPS and map context.

You can also access project data offline, giving you the background you need even in remote locations. All updates and new data syncs once back online, maintaining secure, role-based access and seamless workflows between office and field.

DATA TYPES

Instrumentation

Automated readings from sensors, gauges, weather stations, and more. Historical datasets can be merged into  unified time-series records; manual uploads are also supported.

Remote Sensing

Visualize lidar-derived terrain  models, InSAR ground deformation, and high-res imagery. Includes continent-wide elevation datasets and up-to-date optical imagery (e.g.,  Sentinel-2).

Field Inspections

Comprehensive inventory of geohazard and geo-assets with structured forms, geotagged photos, and mapped inspection  records. Tracks history and updates over time.

Weather

Ingests historical, real-time, and forecast precipitation and snowpack data from sources like MRMS, SNODAS, CaPA, RDPS, HRRR, and GFS.

Environmental

Integrates live feeds for earthquakes (USGS/NRCAN), hurricanes (NOAA), and wildfires. Events appear on the map with associated metadata and forecast overlays.

Geotechnical

Manages borehole data, stratigraphy, and IMU strain features. Supports visualizations in cross-section views and  correlates subsurface data with ground movement.

Hydrotechnical

Combines river network models,  streamflow gauges, discharge forecasts, and snowpack grids. Enables automated gauge assignment, flood alerting, and erosion risk analysis.

Documents & Photos

Unlimited storage for geotagged  photos, PDFs, and reports. Files are tagged, searchable, and linked to mapped sites and inspections for traceability.
AUTOMATED ANALYSIS & ALERTING

Risk Quantification

Built-in models calculate the probability of failure (PoF) and risk levels. Risk scores combine likelihood and consequence, updating automatically with each inspection to support defensible prioritization across sites and programs.

Automated Change Detection

Detect surface movement like landslides, settlement, or erosion by comparing lidar or photogrammetry over time. ML-assisted workflows can flag emerging features—like scarps or slope failures—not easily seen in optical imagery.

Alerting & Tresholds

Set custom thresholds on sensors or environmental inputs (e.g., pore pressure, rainfall) to issue alerts when values are exceeded or data is missing—automatically linking sites to the  nearest relevant gauges using built-in algorithms.

Weather

Track both raw and calculated metrics (e.g., displacement from shape arrays), and surface anomalies or rate-of-change trends that distinguish normal variation from emerging concerns.
ENGINEERING TOOLS

Shared Interactive Workspaces

Geospatial interface to view assets, hazard sites, and monitoring data together. Users can toggle between  raster/vector layers, annotate maps, switch between 2D and 3D, and use pop-ups to explore metadata, logs, or site context.

Time-Series Plot Creation

Plotting engine overlays sensor readings with environmental data over time (e.g., piezometric levels, rainfall) in zoomable, exportable plots. Useful for anomaly detection, threshold tracking, and trend validation.

Cross Sections & 3D Profiling

Generate georeferenced profiles with boreholes, stratigraphy, and instrumentation. Supports vertical exaggeration, historical overlays, and time sliders to show site evolution.

Exports & Reporting

Filter and export tabular data (e.g., inspection logs, sensor values) to CSV. Save maps, cross-sections, and plots as images for use in reports. Compile geotagged photos and documents for internal or regulatory review.
SECURITY & INTEROPERABILITY
Platform FAQs
